Jigsaw-cut Woodblock Print Workshop with English Artist Ralph Kiggell
Ralph Kiggell is an English printmaking artist, book illustrator and arts writer who has spent the last 30 years in Asia researching and practising contemporary and traditional water-based woodblock printing. After studying with print masters in Japan he has been teaching and producing artwork throughout Asia and for the last ten years has had a studio practice in Bangkok. Following a residency at ANU, Canberra, Ralph will be briefly visiting Melbourne and holding a one-off 2-day workshop at Ema Shin’s studio in Richmond. He will discuss his own innovative print and bookmaking practices and work alongside students to create fascinating JIGSAW style prints printed with the traditional and clean Japanese methods.
