The Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney is exhibiting George Baldessin's suite of 25 prints called "Occasional images from a city chamber" and I think the series is one of my favourites. The etchings use soft-ground, aquatint and black ink on white wove…Continue

Hi Sandra! I just uploaded some prints...I am going to make more photos and I will post some more...As you now, here in Spain we have got long tradition of printmakers as Goya, Chillida, Tapies, Picasso... printmaking is strong here, people keep on doing with traditional technics and experimenting with new materials and nontoxic printmaking...How is going in Australia?

Thank you Sandra;

But this is strange, when I sign out, I can't see my pictures any more ?

Do I have to change something in my profile ?

Thank you

Caroline.

I think there is gradually a swing back to the hand pulled print Seth. You may be interested in Annie Day's work on Waterless Lithography. http://www.annieday.com.au/

Thanks! Glad to be here. I am curious to hear from printmakers who are opening their own shops. I've been out of the loop and wanted to see if lithography is still going strong in the digital age!

The exhibition went well, thanks Sandra & we had many new visitors who had no idea Eramboo is establishing itself as an arts venue in Terrey Hills.  The public art program with Manly ran straight after the exhibition & was an intense week with some participating artists working on their installations in the studios so it was a bonus to watch others at work. My contribution to the event consisted of found & abandoned umbrellas (everywhere at the time just after the big wet) displayed in one of the bins on the wharf as a bunch of 'flowers'. Unfortunately, they didn't last the weekend as the efficient? cleaners emptied the bin soon after!  However, there was some other fabulous works, shame they were only up for the weekend.

Hi Sandra,

Thankyou for invitation to join your list.  I had a look at your work and was amazed at your diversity - very strong, powerful imagery.  I especially liked your monotypes, a method I have mixed success with, as they are such richly coloured landscapes.  What is your secret - oil paint!? and a good eye of course.

All the best,

Gina

I'm very pleased to be included in the group of 11 printmakers & paper artists showing work at this new gallery (only 3 months old) and already creating a small buzz of interest in the Gosford area.

An good opportunity to both see the set up of the ART STUDIOS COOPERATIVE LTD, as well as visiting the Gosford Art Prize which is said to be excellent this year.

Exhibition: 24 September to 5 October 2014.

Manly Artist Book Awards 2013

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 10:16 0 Comments

I was delighted to learn yesterday that my artist book, "Go with the flow" had been selected for exhibition. I don't necessarily think of myself as a book artist but I enjoy challenges and the creative process involved in "telling a story" with words, or images, or both. I hope that, like the inaugural award in 2011, there will be lots of our members exhibiting their books at this fledgling award exhibition.
Opening 6pm Friday 15 March at the Manly Library, Market Place, Manly, NSW.
