Safer printmaking for artists
My main body of work is with limited edition hand coloured linocuts and various botanical and wildlife illustration in a variety of styles and mediums.
I have always had a strong affinity with the Australian bush and landscapes in particular wildflowers. A strong love and practice of drawing provides me with a base for my work and is the foundation from which I develop the designs.
The importance of wildflowers in my art comes from my formative years growing up surrounded by the Sydney bushland and has become the predominant focus within which I find endless possibilities to explore colour and design.
Drawing has always been my underlying passion – I love working particularly with pencil & pen & ink and creating detailed images. All my work is grounded within a strong sense of draughtsmanship.
My current practice is to use the strong graphic quality that is a feature of linocuts and compliment that with the use of watercolour to hand paint the prints where I can develop and explore colour & design.
I love interacting with other artists & printmakers & always looking to learn new things. I also love to share my working methods to help others.
