Printed Matter exhibition

Printed Matter is an exhibition of the work of five members of the Newcastle Printmakers Workshop. The exhibition is being held at The Emporium in Hunter Street, Newcastle - the former site of David Jones now operated under the Renew Newcastle banner. The official opening for Printed Matter is Saturday 15 November 2pm but the exhibition runs until Sat 29 November.Exhibitors are Amanda Donohue, Kerri Smith, Robyn Culley, Lynne Britten and Therese Gabriel Wilkins.…See More

Open Day at Newcastle Printmakers 19th October 2013

Newcastle Printmakers Workshop, established over 30 years ago, provides facilities for the community to learn about printmaking as well as being home for around 80 enthusiastic artists.The Open Day on October 19th will celebrate the refurbishment of the physical workshop, built almost 50 years ago. Thanks to Pozible Crowd Funding, and the receipt of a Community Partnership Grant from the State Government, rewiring, re-plumbing and general restoration have now been completed.  The workshop is…See More

"I think this is quite difficult to answer and I wonder if the 'general public' just get more confused when they see unframed prints for sale. There is already some difficulty getting over the concept that we are not mass producing works…"

Exhibition - From the Land

I'm currently taking part in the From the Land exhibition at Studio 48 in Newcastle.Most of the works I am exhibiting were inspired by journeys to Armidale along Bucketts Way and trips to Uluru, were the barren land and uniquely Australian landscapes became embedded in my consciousness. I created a number of small zinc intaglio and aluminium dry point plates to represent the grasses and paddocks seen on these trips.
